Thank you for your interest in our upcoming AWF Delta & Bay Conservation Center at Five Rivers in Spanish Fort, Alabama. The Five Rivers facility will be closed to the public until March, 2026 as building and trail renovations take place, we hire and train our staff, and develop our program offerings, use opportunities, and operational procedures. If you have enjoyed Five Rivers in the past, many of those same opportunities will be available in the near future.
Alabama Wildlife Federation’s (AWF) goal for the AWF Delta & Bay Conservation Center at Five Rivers is to provide planned, outdoor education field trips for public, private, and home school groups, summer and holiday Day Camps for youth, weekday and weekend programming and use opportunities for the general public, and rental opportunities for meetings and events when they do not conflict with our primary education activities.
AWF’s Alabama Nature Center facility in Millbrook, Alabama is the model for our upcoming endeavors at the AWF Delta & Bay Conservation Center at Five Rivers. Almost 20 years ago, AWF developed the Alabama Nature Center and our outdoor education programs from scratch. Today, 50,000 people each year join us for activities at the Alabama Nature Center. We will transport the programmatic architecture that we developed at the Alabama Nature Center to Five Rivers and customize it to fit the natural resource elements of the Delta & Bay.
