Expedition Lanark is a full day summer camp that provides hands-on, outdoor educational activities that teach natural resource stewardship, develop leadership skills, and build character. All camp sessions are co-ed and full day, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (Tadpole Camp 1/2 day only)

Tadpole Camp (Age 5) | June 8-12 | July 27-31 (8:30-noon, you may drop off at 7:15)
Let Tadpole Camp be your child’s first camp experience! This unique ½ day camp designed especially for 5 year olds will introduce your mini-explorer to the outdoors in a safe, hands-on way. Parent day is Friday so be ready for your own Lanark camp experience! Lunch is provided.

Nature Navigators (Ages 6 & 7) | June 1-5 | June 8-12 | June 15-19 | June 22-26 | July 6-10 | July 13-17 | July 20-24
Campers will learn about water, plants, wildlife and geology while getting down and dirty. Daily activities include but are not limited to fishing, hiking, outdoor games, observing and collecting wildlife, crafts and swimming. Come prepared to get wet because creek explorations are a must!

Trail Blazers (Ages 8 & 9) | June 1-5 | June 8-12 | June 15-19 | June 22-26 | July 6-10 | July 13-17 | July 20-24
Campers will enjoy Lanark’s outdoors while fishing, hiking, swimming, and other camper favorite activities. Get wet and dirty in Still Creek while exploring wildlife habitat and competing in the sand castle building competition. Top off your week by making your own ice cream, water wars with our camp counselors and shooting bows and arrows with your friends.

Heritage Explorers (Ages 10 & 11) | June 1-5 | June 8-12 | June 15-19 | June 22-26 | July 6-10 | July 13-17 | July 20-24
Participants will experience the thrill of nature while learning about conservation and natural resources through hands-on activities. Activities vary each week to captivate repeat campers as well as one-timers. Camper favorites include creek hikes, swimming, fishing, water boat races, outdoor games, animal presentations and archaeological excavation.

High Adventure (Ages 12-15) | Cedar Creek – Session dates: June 22-26
Campout will be at Cedar Creek Lodge in Dallas County directly on Cedar Creek. Take a trip back in time and explore ancient oyster beds while enjoying the wilderness and wildlife.Visit a rookery, lead your own expedition down Cedar Creek and rough it in the great outdoors!

High Adventure (Ages 12-15) | Coosa River – Session dates: July 6-10
Kayak/canoe down the Coosa and enjoy a camp out at Lanark under the stars. Be one of the lucky few who can say they experienced an ANC adventure at night! Pickup for this session is 9am Friday unless otherwise noted.

Counselors in Training (Ages 12-15) | June 8-12 | July 27-31
Learn the ropes of being a camp counselor and have fun too! This program gives youth the opportunity to have a fun week at camp with hands-on learning activities. CIT staff seek to create well-grounded, self-confident campers as programs will expose them to nature through team-building activities. All CITs will shadow a skilled counselor, get certified in CPR and First Aid, and experience a mock interview on Friday!

Boys in Action (BIA) (Boys Ages 10-15) | July 13-17
Calling all boys! If you like to climb trees, carve on sticks, cook outdoors, track animals, sneak through the woods, build forts, or just run, this camp is for you. This week we will explore honor, self-respect, wisdom, and the responsibility that comes with being a boy. Activities like climbing trees, canoeing and archery will become opportunities to have fun while learning about setting safe and appropriate boundaries for ourselves.

Fishing Fundamentals (Ages 10-15) | June 15-19
From the tackle to the bait and all the fishing in between, get ready to have some fun catching bass, bream and catfish! Choosing the best bait; learning how to tie a fly; mastering proper casting techniques and taking the “big one” off the hook are part of this adventure. Bring your own tackle and compete in the Friday Fishing Challenge!

Gross Out Camp Sponsored by Fresh Air Family (Ages 6-9) | July 27-31
If it’s gross we’ve got it! This award-winning science camp focuses on hands-on biology. Activities include: creek stomping expeditions for macroinvertebrates, meet-a-tree style scientific observation, and creativity such as making your own bird-poop paint (not from birds). Kids will meet live snakes in a reptile program. Learning has never been this much fun! Sponsored by Fresh Air Family.

NEW CAMP!!! Yak Attack 3-day Mini-Camp (Ages 12-15) | June 29-July 1
Come join us here at ANC during this 3-day mini-camp June 29th-July 1st! Here we will focus on mastering the basics of canoeing and kayaking and will cover everything from water safety to how to react when your canoe goes under! We will top of the camp Wednesday July 1st with a guided trip down Autauga Creek! Life jackets and paddles will be provided all you need is your swim suit and a sense of adventure! There is limited space for this camp so sign up fast!
