Blue Crab Boudin Balls, Quail Egg Bread Pudding and Divine Swine were just a few of the tasty dishes found at the Alabama Wildlife Federation Wild Game Cook-Off and Silent Auction last Saturday at the Talladega Superspeedway! With 32 cook teams and close to 950 members and guests in attendance, Smokin-N-Jokin BBQ captured the top prize of “Best Overall,” with their scrumptious Apple Valley Venison. Smokin-N-Jokin BBQ will be invited to the state finals held at Lanark in Millbrook in August 8, 2015 to compete for the title of AWF 2015 Wild Game Cook-Off State Champion.
The judges definitely had it rough, but in the end Smokin-N-Jokin BBQ including Chad and Khara Jones were named the “Best.” Jim Dunaway of WJOX and WIAT-42 in Birmingham stated, “The creativity this year was fantastic; presentation was like being at a Talladega race where you are in awe of all that surrounds you! I tried everything from Talladega Fajitas to Divine Swine and it was absolutely delicious. I was honored to be a judge and have the opportunity to taste the wide variety of excellent wild game dishes.”
