Water Wonders Day

Kindergarten through 6th grade; no charge for chaperones

*Students and chaperones are responsible for bringing a sack lunch/drink, a complete change of clothes, and water shoes to wear in the creek. Old tennis shoes, rain boots, water shoes, or sandals with a strap around the back are fine; no flip flops.
PROGRAM ACTIVITIES
Fishing – Students will experience a type of aquatic recreation by using cane poles to fish in one of the ANC’s ponds. Guides will also discuss what other animals and plants live in the pond ecosystem.
Aquatic Animal Presentation – Students will learn about and meet several of our education animals that call water their home.
Stream Walk – A walk in Still Creek will spark discussion about how humans contribute to the overall health of our waterways, including man’s effects on water quality, erosion and pollution. Students will learn that our drinking water is the result of a treatment/filtering process provided by our local water systems.
